PA - POLYAMIDES - Nylon
Nylons are very tough, high tensile strength, with excellent ductility. It is widely used for gears, fittings, and bearings, in automotive industry for under-the-hood parts, and as a material for power tools housings. Gun frames, like the Glock, use a Nylon composite.
PEEK - POLYETHER ETHER KETONE
PEEK is a semicrystalline thermoplastic with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are retained to high temperatures.
PEKK - POLYETHERKETONEKETONE
A leading material in the PAEK family, PEKK has exceptional mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistance properties, while being substantially easier to print than PEEK.
PEI - POLYETHERIMIDE (ULTEM™ )
Polyetherimide is an amorphous, amber-to-transparent thermoplastic with characteristics similar to the related plastic PEEK. Relative to PEEK, PEI is cheaper, but is lower in impact strength and usable temperature
PSU - POLYSULFONE
PSU is a high-temperature amorphous polymer that offers excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistance properties.
PPSF/PPSU - POLYPHENYLSULFONE
PPSU is considered one of the highest performance plastics in the industry. This high-temperature amorphous polymer that offers excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistance properties.
PPS - POLYPHENYLENE SULFIDE
PPS exhibits exceptional chemical resistance along with high thermal and mechanical properties. Widely known as one of the most chemically resistant thermoplastic materials available, PPS is insoluble in any known solvent under 200°C.
PP - POLYPROPYLENE
Polypropylene has incredible chemical resistance, low density and very light weight, and has great temperature resistance and overall toughness.
PC - POLYCARBONATE
Polycarbonates used in engineering are strong, tough materials, and some grades are optically transparent. They are easily worked, molded, and thermoformed. Tough, rigid, and temperature resistant.
PCTG - Copolyester
Stronger, Tougher, and Clearer - Essentium PCTG is an easy-to-use material with incredible surface finish, superior toughness, and chemical resistance – use it just like PETG. With isotropic Z-Strength, it's one of our favorite materials!
FLEXIBLES - TPE, TPU, TPC, Thermoplastic Elastomers
Flexible filaments, used for soft, bendable, or highly-impact-resistant parts. Can also be used to create living hinges in dual-extrusion, and comes in a variety of hardnesses.
SUPPORT FILAMENTS
Used for supporting overhangs and complex geometry on dual-extruder machines, support filaments are useful to get a great finish and good strength on a part, while pushing the limits of what is possible in FDM.
POLYVINYLIDENE FLUORIDE
PVDF is made using Arkema Kynar®. PVDF is an excellent choice for applications that require chemical resistance, high-heat resistance, and superior abrasion resistance.
